Jazz guard Conley decides against opting out of deal

Jazz point guard Mike Conley Jr. brings the ball up the court against the Mavericks.

Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley Jr. will not exercise the early termination option on his contract, meaning he’ll back with the team, as relayed by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

This is not a big surprise, given that Conley would be walking away from $34.5 million.

NBA free agency begins a week from Friday.

Conley was traded to the Jazz before the start of last season and averaged 14.4 points and 4.4 assists in 47 games.
