Five NBA preseason games slotted on ESPN advance schedule

A general view of ESPN's NBA logo.

It’s too early to say who will be playing or where, but some NBA preseason games are already set to be on TV.

More specifically, ESPN is scheduled to carry five games from Dec. 6-18. With training camps starting Dec. 1, and the season tipping off Dec. 22, the games on the ESPN advance scheduled fall in the NBA’s preseason timeframe.

Nothing is official in terms of a 2020-21 schedule and calendar, though the time is clearly drawing near.

Along with the preseason games, ESPN and ABC are scheduled to broadcast five NBA games on Christmas Day, starting at noon. Other tipoff times follow last year’s scheduled — 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. EST.

Obviously, all of this is subject to change, as any advance schedule is considered tentative.

The NBA draft is scheduled for Wednesday, with free agency to begin Nov. 20. The window for teams to make trades and signings will open by early next week.
