Free agent Spurs guard Belinelli reaches deal in Italy

Free agent shooting guard Marco Belinelli has agreed to a deal with Italian club Virtus Bologna, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Belinelli, 34, averaged 6.3 points on 39 percent shooting in 57 games with the San Antonio Spurs last season.

He apparently was not getting the type of offers he was hoping for from NBA teams, leading to his decision to sign overseas.

A first-round pick of the Golden State Warriors in 2007, the 6-foot-5 Belinelli has also spent time with the Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers.

He has served two stints with the Spurs (2013-15, 2018-20). His overseas deal is reportedly for three years.
