Hornets waive two-way forward Spalding

Ray Spalding of the Greensboro Swarm drives to the basket during a G-League game.

The Charlotte Hornets have waived power forward Ray Spalding, the team announced.

Spalding is 6-foot-9 and was a second-round pick out of Louisville in 2018. He has appeared in a total of 14 NBA games, all coming in the 2018-19 season with the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns.

Spalding was on a two-way contract with the Hornets last year, meaning the Hornets now have a slot available. Undrafted rookie guard Nate Darling already has one of the two-way deals.

Training camp tips off Tuesday.
