Beloved Miami Heat center Udonis Haslem is returning to the organization for an 18th season.

“It’s great to have UD back,” Heat president Pat Riley said. “His role is so critical for our team. Besides being able to still play, UD keeps everyone together in the locker room and on the road, teaching and mentoring.”

Haslem, 40, reportedly signed a one-year contract, foregoing retirement.

He has won three championships during his time with the Heat — 2005-06, 2011-12 and 2012-13. Along with that, Haslem generally draws praise from teammates for his guidance in the locker room and on the bench.

Training camp is scheduled to begin Tuesday.
