Lakers signing undrafted forward Tinkle to Exhibit 10 deal

Former Oregon State forward Tres Tinkle drives to the basket vs. Washington.

The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a training camp contract with undrafted Oregon State forward Tres Tinkle, according to Jeff Goodman of Stadium.

Tinkle, 24, is 6-foot-7 and went undrafted out of Oregon State. He was named to the All-PAC 12 team three straight years.

He averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 31 games this past season, showing the ability to play out on the perimeter or closer to the basket as a power forward.

Tinkle’s father, Wayne Tinkle, is the coach at Oregon State. Tres Tinkle has cited Dwyane Wade as being his favorite athlete.

The Lakers also recently signed undrafted Stephen F. Austin guard Kevon Harris, his agent told Ben Stinar of Amico Hoops and Forbes.

The Lakers’ training camp frontcourt currently includes the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol, Kyle Kuzma and several others. That list now includes Tinkle, too.

Tinkle signed an Exhibit 10 deal — or one-year, minimum salary contract. An Exhibit 10 contract allows a bonus of up to $50,000 if Tinkle is waived and remains with the Lakers’ G-League franchise for at least 60 days.
