Magic make signings of Teske, Bone and others official

The Orlando Magic have announced the signings of undrafted Michigan center Jon Teske, free agent guard Jordan Bone and three others.

Teske, 23, is 7-foot-1 and a product of Medina (Ohio) High School. He played all four seasons at Michigan, averaging 11.6 points and 6.7 rebounds as a senior. He shot 50.1 percent from the field for his college career.

“It’s the best fit for me right now as a player,” Teske told Rick Noland of the Medina Gazette. “A couple other teams were interested, but for me to showcase my talents and play within my skills, it’s a big advantage going there.”

The terms of the contract haven’t been announced, but it is likely an Exhibit 10 “make good” deal — or one-year, minimum salary contract. An Exhibit 10 contract would all a bonus of up to $50,000 if Teske is waived and remains with the Magic’s G-League franchise for at least 60 days.

Teske is represented by Aaron Turner (Orange High School) of the Versus Basketball Agency. Versus also represents Indiana Pacers standout Victor Oladipo, Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier (Shaker Heights ) and New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox, among others.

Bone, 23, is 6-foot-3 and was drafted in the second round out of Tennessee in 2019. He spent his rookie season on a two-way deal with the Detroit Pistons, who opted not to extend him a qualifying offer.

He appeared in just 10 NBA games, spending most of his time with the G-League’s Grand Rapids Drive.

Along with Teske and Bone, the Magic announced the signings of undrafted guard Karim Mane, G-League guard Devin Cannady and G-League forward Robert Franks.

Bone and Mane each received two-way contracts.
